KittyKit

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 9, 2026

KittyLand (the “Operator”) handles personal information as little as possible in providing the macOS app KittyKit (the “App”) and this website (kittyland.net). This document explains plainly what information is handled and where. This English text is a translation for reference; if it differs from the Korean version, the Korean version prevails.

In short. What you type, what is on screen and file contents are never stored or sent. The App has no accounts and sends no usage statistics. The only information the App sends over the internet is the key (code) and Mac identifier when you activate a Pro license key or a free code, and the App version number when it checks for a new version (you can turn the update check off in Settings).

1. Information the App handles only on this Mac

AboutPurposeWhere it is kept
Key input events (which key was pressed)Deciding whether a press is a switch key, a Windows shortcut or a window layout shortcutHandled only in memory and not stored. The letters you type are not read. Only while the Diagnostics screen is open, “key kinds and decisions” are temporarily recorded on screen.
Settings (switch rules, shortcuts, cat, battery and focus screen options and so on)App behaviorThis Mac's app support folder and user defaults
Battery level and device names of connected keyboards, mice and trackpadsLow-battery alertsNot stored; only shown on screen.
Time since the last input, and the current input sourceThe cat's movements and speech bubblesUsed only in memory.
Pro trial start date, license key and activation informationKeeping the Pro activation stateThis Mac's Keychain. So that the Finder extension can read the same state, a “Pro or not (1 or 0)” file is also left in the app support folder.

Permissions such as Accessibility and Input Monitoring are used only to run the features above; the App does not read or store the screens or documents of other apps. Window layout and focus screen handle only window positions and sizes.

2. Information sent over the internet

The App does not collect or send usage statistics, error reports or advertising identifiers. Information is sent only in the following two cases.

WhenWhat is sentSent to
When you enter a license key to activate, when the App checks that the key is valid at launch and periodically while running, and when you click “Release on this Mac”The license key, this Mac's name (a label that distinguishes devices at activation) and the device identifier the server gives after activationThe payment provider Lemon Squeezy (api.lemonsqueezy.com)
When you enter a free code to activateThe free code and a hash that identifies this Mac (a hash of the hardware serial mixed with an app-specific string; the original number is not sent)The Operator's server (kittyland.net)
When checking for a new version (at launch and about once a day; if you turn off “Check for updates automatically” in Settings, only when you click the “Check for updates” button)Requests the latest version file (latest.json). The App version number is carried in the request's User-Agent; no other information is sent besides the IP address the receiving server sees. The Operator's server (kittyland.net)

A free code is tied to one Mac. The server keeps the pairing of the code and the hash and the activation time; the signed confirmation it returns is stored in this Mac's Keychain and checked afterwards without the internet.

If you don't use a license (only the free features or only the 7-day trial), this transfer doesn't happen. The 7-day trial is counted only from a start date kept on this Mac and the server is not told. Pro that is already activated keeps working even without internet.

3. Payment information

Pro purchases are processed by the payment provider Lemon Squeezy as the Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy collects and keeps payment information such as card numbers, as well as your name, email and billing address; the Operator does not receive card information. To manage sales, the Operator can see order numbers, emails and license key status in the Lemon Squeezy dashboard. See the Lemon Squeezy Privacy Policy for details.

4. Diagnostic reports and inquiries

The App never sends a diagnostic report by itself. After you check the preview, you save it as a file, copy it or open a mail window and send it yourself. The email address and content in inquiry emails ([email protected]) are used only to answer and solve the problem, and are deleted after the period needed once handling is done.

5. Website

This website uses Google Analytics (Google LLC) to count visits. Google collects cookies and visit information (pages visited, visit time, device and browser type, approximate region, referral source and so on); it does not collect information that directly identifies a person (name, email and so on). This information is used only to improve the site and not for advertising. You can block cookies in your browser settings, and you can also opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The KittyKit App does not use Google Analytics or any analytics tool and sends no usage information. The web server may keep access logs (IP address, access time, requested address, browser type) for a period for security and incident response, and does not use them for other purposes. Download files are served from the same server.

6. Retention and deletion

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, deletion of or suspension of processing of your information held by the Operator. Please request it at [email protected]. Payment information is kept by Lemon Squeezy, so you can also ask that company directly. The Operator will process a request without delay after confirming it.

8. Provision to third parties and overseas processing

The Operator does not sell your information or use it for advertising, and does not provide it to third parties except when required by law. License verification and payment are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which has servers in countries such as the United States, so that information may be transferred abroad.

9. Children

The App is not aimed at children under 14 and does not knowingly collect their personal information.

10. Changes to this policy

If the content changes, we will update the effective date on this page. For important changes, such as collecting more items, we post them on this page first so you can see them before downloading the App again.
